Clinical Care delivered in the comfort of your own home!

At Joyous Healthcare UK, we understand that managing a clinical or medical condition at home requires skill, precision, and close collaboration with healthcare professionals. Our Clinical Care services are delivered by trained and experienced Care staff who follow clear care plans, professional boundaries, and infection control protocols. Each care plan is tailored to the individual’s needs and created in consultation with district nurses, GPs, and other healthcare specialists involved in their care.

We focus on providing safe, compassionate, and effective support — enabling clients to remain in the comfort of their homes while receiving the specialist care they need. Regular reviews, supervision, and competency assessments ensure our Care staff maintain the highest professional standards.

Urinary Catheter Care

  • Our Care staff are trained in the safe management and maintenance of urinary catheters, including both indwelling and suprapubic types. We assist with routine hygiene, emptying and changing drainage bags, and monitoring for signs of discomfort, infection, or blockage.
  • Staff understand the importance of infection prevention and follow strict hygiene protocols such as thorough hand washing, wearing gloves and aprons, and using sterile equipment as required. Care plans detail specific routines, such as fluid intake, catheter flushing schedules (if prescribed), and early warning signs of urinary tract infections.
  • Any changes in urine colour, odour, or flow are promptly reported to the district nurse or GP, ensuring timely medical review and continuity of care.

Bowel Stoma Care

  • We provide sensitive, respectful, and skilled support for individuals living with a stoma. Our Care staff assist clients with changing or emptying stoma bags, cleansing the stoma site, and maintaining the integrity of surrounding skin to prevent irritation or infection.
  • Staff encourage independence wherever possible, giving clients control and confidence over their own care routines. We maintain discretion and uphold dignity at all times, offering reassurance and emotional support, especially for those adjusting to life with a stoma.
  • All care is carried out in accordance with the client’s stoma care plan and under the guidance of stoma nurses or other healthcare professionals.

Gastrostomy/PEG Care

  • For clients who receive nutrition or medication through a PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) or other feeding tubes, our trained Care staff provide meticulous support with daily feeding routines. This includes safe administration of prescribed feed or fluids, correct positioning during and after feeding, and cleaning of the tube site to prevent infection.

  • Staff are trained to recognise signs of complications such as redness, swelling, leakage, or blockages. Any concerns are immediately reported to the appropriate healthcare professional.

  • We follow clear clinical guidance to ensure that each feeding procedure is carried out safely, comfortably, and in line with prescribed care plans. Emotional reassurance is also offered, as clients may feel anxious about their feeding process — our approach promotes calm, confidence, and dignity.

Diabetes Care

  • Supporting clients living with diabetes requires consistent attention to diet, medication, and lifestyle management. Our Care staff help clients monitor and record blood glucose levels, prepare balanced meals according to dietary requirements, and follow exercise routines that help stabilise blood sugar.

  • When insulin administration is required, only trained and assessed CareGivers carry out this task under specific delegation from a healthcare professional. Staff are vigilant in observing symptoms of hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) and hyperglycaemia (high blood sugar) — such as dizziness, sweating, confusion, or unusual fatigue — and respond appropriately in accordance with the client’s care plan.

  • We also educate clients and family members about recognising early warning signs and ensure communication between the home care team, GP, and diabetic specialist is maintained at all times.

Wound Care

  • For clients living with epilepsy or other seizure-related conditions, our Care staff are trained to respond calmly and confidently to ensure safety and reassurance during an episode.

  • Staff follow detailed care plans that outline known triggers, seizure types, and response procedures. During a seizure, the CareGiver ensures the person’s environment is safe — removing nearby hazards, supporting the head, and monitoring breathing and duration. After the seizure, staff provide comfort, reassurance, and dignity, while observing for signs of injury or post-seizure confusion.

  • Accurate documentation is maintained in the care record, and relevant professionals or family members are informed as required. In the event of prolonged or repeated seizures, emergency procedures are followed, including contacting emergency services if indicated in the care plan.
